Country music singer and songwriter Mark Nelson Chesnutt grew up with a love for country music like his father. Bob Chesnutt was a popular local singer that never made it big. 


After learning how to play the guitar and drums, Chesnutt made his debut at the age of 15 with his dad's band. In the 80s, Chesnutt released his first single and finally a full album with a label out of San Antonio, Texas


Between 1990 and 1999, Chesnutt charted twenty top-ten hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. Chesnutt's released Too Cold at Home and the title track became Chesnutt's first hit.


Chesnutt's third album Almost Goodbye produced three-number hits. The title-track was released in August 1993 and remained on the country charts for 20 weeks. The music video was directed by John Lloyd Miller and released in late 1993.
